Tips For: Sniping and in General
Tip 1: Make sure Your Class is Good
Everything in MW2 is based on your class and how you build it. For example, you DON'T want a class like a Barret with Thermal and Heartbeat Sensor with Akimbo Usp's and Bling Pro, Lightweight, and Commando. Your screwed from the beginning unless your extremely pro. Instead, make sure your class is built off of your primary weapon, what position you plan to play in your match, and your preffered game type. For example, in a Hardcore Ricochet Headquarters Pro (my favorite), I use the M21 EBR w/ Silencer and Extended Mags, so that I can fire a lot without reloading, and the can't hear where the shots are coming from. Then, I use a Silenced USP 45. w/ FMJ. For equipment, I use a Claymore or Tactical Insertion. For special nades, I use Smokes to get out of tight spots. For perks, I use Bling Pro, Hardline or Coldblooded Pro, and Steady AIm Pro, with a deathstreak of Painkiller. Obviously, i will snipe with this class, but i have a good secondary and perk selection to boot. with this combo, that level 70 may get sniped over and over, but he'll be clueless.
Tip 2: Your Sniper Spot
When sniping, you always want a spot that will make you nearly invisible. to find that spot, find someplace that:
-overlooks a good portion of the map
-is hard to find
-that is away from spawn points
-that is easy to guard
For example, the Teddy Bear Roof on Highrise and the Back of the plane on Terminal are good. they are 2 spots that are hard to get to and are kick ass for sniping. on the roof, it is hard to get on for some, but with enough practice, you can get on the roof with ease leaving your enemies in the dust.
Tip 3: Killstreaks
In general, you ALWAYS want the 7-11-25 if you want a quick endgame, but if you want kills, do the 5-7-11.
Tip 4: Level Doesn't Matter
When playing online, many people think that level matters. in a way it does, but it just shows someones progress to 10th prestige. ive seen a lot of low level guys beat the crap out of a 10th prestige level 70. For example, many of the high level guys just play a lot. I don't, so im a low level, but when i play, i average 2-6 levels a day. So remember, skill is not based on level.
Tip 5: The Starting Weapons Are Your Friends
Any of you guys who have played Modern Warfare probably remember that the starting weapons were 10 times better than many of the later guns. MW2 works the same way. the M4, Barret, MP5K, Riot Shield, and LMG are all REALLY good. The Barret has immense power, and will be a one-shot kill most of the time, the M4 has good damage and accuracy, the MP5K is like the M4, the Riot Shield has its own category, and the LMG is a pro. For example, i got a chopper gunner in about a minute with the starting SMG class. try the classes and you'll see.
Tip 6: It Doesn't Matter How Big Your Gun, But How You Use It Is Different
A pistol or shotgun can be better than any primary gun, if use right.
Tip 8: Double Tap
Shoot someone twice if you get a hit marker.
Tip 9: Be Aware
I cannot stress enough how important this is. i have had it so many times im about to get a high killstreak, and bam, some guy right behind me came out of nowhere. always listen and pay attention to where the enemy is.
Tip 10: Be Sneaky
When your sniping or going recon, always be quick and stealthy when on the move. Do not take aim at the guy on the other end of the map when on the move or YOU. WILL. DIE.
Tip : Have Fun
Now I know that since we were all young, we were told that sports and games are for fun. If you aren't enjoying playing MW2, it is less likely that you will be good at it. I mean, you don't buy a game if you aren't going to have fun with it right? so have fun.
