Tips for: Sniping

Hello readers, my name is kamkaZ101 and I have a few tips for sniping. Sniping may look easy, but you may be mistakingly wrong. For me, the ideal class is either a Barrett .50 cal or Intervention as my sniper, equipped with FMJ. Then having P1(perk 1) as sleight of hand, P2 as stopping power, and P3 as steady aim. All of these of course are better when they are pro. I choose this because with sleight of hand your are able to quickly reload and search for more enemies. Pluse when it is pro it allows you to see down your scope at a much faster rate. P2 is stopping power because I hate shooting someone and only injuring them. With stopping power and fmj on almost every hit is a kill. P3 is steady aim more for the pro version where you are able to hold your breath longer but it may also help with a no scope kill if you are ambushed. With that you can focus on one spot for a very long time as you wait for someone to appear. Secondary weapon would be SPAS with a foregrip. I choose a shot gun because that covers the only area a sniper really can't, up close. Now you can pick any shot gun but I like the SPAS because it has good range and is usually a one hit kill. plus then you can't get crap for usuing an automatic shotgun. Equipment would be claymore because nothing else really will help you as you are sniping. Special grenade is flash bangs. I choose flashbangs because they allow you to run away without being seen. Smoke could work, but you only get one and it also blinds you too. Finally death streak is final stand. I choose final stand because as a sniper you are usually away from the action, so if you are hit and go down with final stand you may have a chance to get back up because you are away from people.

Now this is just my class, doesn't mean it's right or wrong, it's just a preference. This class is more suited for a sniper that varys from staying in one spot and moving. Here are my tips on classes for other types of snipering styles. If you are looking to be a "camping" sniper then your perks would most likely be Sleight of Hand(same reasons as mine) Cold Blooded, and Ninja. Here you are looking to be as unnoticable as possible. So the Cold Blooded saves you from kill streaks and thermal, the Ninja saves you from heartbeat sensors, and you can throw a silencer on your sniper to be completly invisible. The secondary weapon would probably be a shotgun seeing that the only people that could likely kill you would be right in your face. Deathstreak would be Final Stand again because you will probably be secluded, with no one around. The rest would just be your preference.

If you want to be a sniper on the move heres what i would suggest. You would want Marathon, Stopping Power, and either Ninja or Commando. Marathon would allow you to always be running, which is the primary purpose to this class. Stopping Power would allow for many one shot kills so no one could follow your. And the third perk is tricky. You could use Ninja to be more sneaky and silent(pro version) or you can use Commando to knife anyone that you would happen to suddenly stumble upon. The rest is mainly preference.

Finally just some tips for acutally sniping in general. 1. As a sniper you have to aware of everything. When your playing try to listen to footsteps, this can tell you if someone is near and give you time to react. 2. Watch for any movement. Any movement at all can alert you to where someone is. 3. Don't stare down your scope for long periods of time. This leaves you vulnerable to anyone that can sneak up on you. 4. Don't hold your breathe for long periods of time. If you hold your breathe for a long time you may just run out of breathe as the enemy shows themself. Only hold for short intervales of time and release, or you can rapidly click the left joystick to hold your breathe which will keep the crosshairs pretty steady. 5. Be smart.
Don't snipe our in the open. You look stupid and will probably be shot instantly. Also if you just saw that a teamate died in a certain area around a corner, chances are that a guy will appear soon. 6. Take your time. If you just rapidly fire off shots as you panic you'll never hit anyone. Make every shot count.

And that's about all I have for now. If anyone has questions on other aspects of the game or need more in depth help on a sniping topic I did not get to please email me at kamakaZ101@yahoo.com
